CAT 2020 Registration: Application forms for the CAT 2020 are available online. The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2020 will be held on November 29 based on which admission to various postgraduate and fellow programs of Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) is done. Candidates can register on the official website and the registration link will remain active till September 16. The registration fee for CAT 2020 is Rs 2000 (Rs 1000 for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwBD categories).

 

CAT will be conducted in test centers spread across around 156 test cities. Those who clear the exam will be eligible for admission to management courses, including PGP, PGDM, PGPEM, EPGP, PGPBM, PGPEX, at various IIMs and other top B-schools across the country.

CAT 2020 Application Form: List of Documents Required

  1. A color photograph in jpeg format
  2. Scanned copy of your signature
  3. Academic transcripts – students who are in final year are also eligible to apply. Please note, you would not be required to upload the transcripts but would be required to share the marks in various qualifying examinations, hence it is advisable to keep them at the ready
  4. Copy of the SC/ST/NC-OBC/EWS/PwD certificate(s) in case a candidate has applied under the reserved category. Please note, students would not be given a chance to change their category, hence it is important to be prepared with the documents.

 

CAT 2020: Eligibility

A bachelor’s degree is the minimum requirement for the CAT examination. Students who have completed their graduation or are in the final year of their course can apply for CAT 2020 examination. Also, all those who have completed CA, CS or ICWA are also eligible to appear for CAT 2020 examination. Please note

  1. There is no upper age limit for CAT examination
  2. All candidates (those who have completed bachelor’s, CA, ICWA, CS, or in the final year) are required to have scored a minimum of 50% in their qualifying examination. For reserved category – SC/ ST and PwD, the minimum requirement is 45% marks in the qualifying examination.

 

How to apply

Students who are eligible and interested are required to fill the online application form for CAT 2020 which would be available online on iimcat.ac.in from 10 am. A fee of Rs 1000 for SC, ST and PwD and a fee of Rs. 2000 for general category candidates is applicable.

To apply, simply follow the instructions for filling the registration form, upload the required documents, and make the fee payment. Remember, students would be required to upload their marks in percent and not CGPA. In case they were awarded in CGPA, they must convert to the percent of marks as per their procedure certified by the respective institution.
