Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty on Friday reached the ED office in Mumbai’s Ballard Estate for questioning in the Sushant death case. Since the late actor’s father lodged an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and five others in Patna Police Station, things have totally changed and taken an about-turn in case of allegations. The ‘Jalebi’ actress has been accused of the abetment of SSR’s suicide and money laundering case by his father K.K Singh. Soon after the FIR was registered, Rhea filed a petition in the Supreme Court to transfer the case from Patna to Mumbai.

Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde said, “Rhea Chakraborty is a law-abiding citizen. In view of the fact that ED has informed the media that the request to postpone the attendance is rejected … she has appeared in the ED at the appointed time and date.” As per a previous ANI report, Maneshinde said Rhea has requested the statement recording be deferred until the Supreme Court hears her plea to transfer the police complaint from Patna, which was registered by Sushant’s father KK Singh, to Mumbai on the ground of jurisdiction.

Reports say ED will quiz her for her two plush flats in Mumbai, one of which is in Khar, and whether she took the funds to buy them from Sushant. She will have to disclose all the documents related to the financial dealings and disclose information about her bank accounts.

The ED had lodged a money laundering case against Rhea Chakraborty and her family and directed her to appear before them on August 7 (Friday). On August 3, the Enforcement Directorate has also questioned the late actor’s Chartered Accountant and Rhea’s CA on August 4.
The ‘Dil Bechara’ actor’s father has claimed that Rs 17 crore was there in Sushant’s account in 2019 and added that Rs 15 crore was later transferred from his account to accounts that were not linked to the actor. K.K Singh also lodged a complaint against the actress accusing her of having full control over his son’s life and taking Rs 15 crore from SSR.
The CBI on Thursday lodged an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and five others Indrajit Chakraborty, Sandhya Chakraborty (her parents), Showik Chakraborty (brother), Samuel Miranda and Shruti Modi. The accused have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for criminal conspiracy, cheating, abetment to suicide and wrongful confinement.

The Bihar government told the Supreme Court on Friday that Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty’s plea seeking transfer of the Patna FIR to Mumbai in actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case was “premature, misconceived and non-maintainable”, and needed to be dismissed.

The affidavit, filed in response to Chakraborty’s plea, said the director-general of police, through the Bihar government, recommended the CBI probe given the sensitivity of the matter, interstate ramification, and presence of most of the accused in Mumbai.
