Delhi Metro Parking: Metro train services will continue to run normally on August 15, with restrictions on entry and exit at some of the stations on the Violet Line, officials said Tuesday. Delhi Metro will run as usual on Independence Day (15 August) across the entire network, according to a circular by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

All the Metro stations will remain open, so in case if you have your office or plan to visit your brother, as 15 th August, also happens to be Raksha Bandhan this year, you will face no difficulty in commuting. Although there will be more security than usual days on 15th August as the Delhi, NCR has turned into a fortress.

All metro stations will remain open on Independence Day but parking at the stations will be closed from 6 am on August 14 till 2 pm on August 15, they said.

Delhi Metro Parking: HIGHLIGHTS

        • Delhi Metro will run as usual across the entire network on Independence Day i.e, 15th August
        • Some entry/exit gates will remain closed at stations owing to security reasons

    The entry and exit at four stations of the Violet Line – Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, Delhi Gate and ITO – will be permitted from select gates during the I-Day ceremony.

    Some gates will remain closed at these stations owing to security considerations during this period, the DMRC said.

    To facilitate people at Lal Quila station on Independence day, additional ticket counters will be opened both at the Lal Quila and Jama Masjid Metro stations along with deployment of additional staff for guiding the rush after the ceremony, it said.

    DMRC has announced that as part of heightened security, all parkings will be closed with effect from 14 th August morning till 15th August afternoon. “Parking at Metro stations will be closed from 6 am on 14th August (Wednesday) till 2 pm on 15th August 2019 (Thursday),” The DMRC circular read. This security measure comes into effect every year in order to avoid any untoward incident.

    To facilitate people at Lal Quila station on Independence Day, additional ticket counters will be opened at Lal Quila and Jama Masjid Metro stations. apart from that additional staff will be deployed to guide people and cater to the rush after the ceremony.
