IGNOU July 2020: The Indira Gandhi National Open University, commonly known as IGNOU, has extended the last date for admission to the July 2020 cycle. Students can now apply for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate degree and diploma programs till October 31, 2020. The extension, however, is not for certificate and semester-based programs.

“The last date for Fresh Admissions has been extended till 31st October 2020. Interested candidates can apply in Bachelor’s Degree Programmes, Master’s Degree Programmes and Diploma & PG Diploma Programmes of the university,” IGNOU said in a statement.

IGNOU further said: “This extension of the last date shall not apply to Certificate and Semester-based programmes, i.e., MP, MPB, PGDMM, PGDFM, PGDHRM, PGDOM, PGDFMP, DBPOFA, PGDIS, MCA, BCA, and all Certificate and Awareness programmes of 6 months duration or less.”

Previously, the last date to apply for IGNOU July 2020 cycle was October 5. For admission, candidates can visit the online admission portal of the university, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

Before applying for admission to IGNOU, candidates can read the common prospectus from the website and check rules for admission.

Yesterday, IGNOU announced June TEE result. Candidates who took the June TEE between September and October can check the result by logging into the official portal using their enrollment numbers.

Candidates can apply online for all programmes at ignou.ac.in.

The programmes offered by IGNOU include all undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate, PG Certificate and appreciation/awareness level programmes.

How to apply for IGNOU July 2020 admission:

1. Visit the official website at ignou.ac.in

2. On the homepage, click on the registration link

3. Read the instructions, and click on the link that reads, “Proceed for re-registration”

4. If you are a new user, click on the “New Registration” link and fill in the necessary information

5. After the registration is complete, go back and log in

6. Fill in all the requisite information and pay the registration fee

7. Submit the application

 Meanwhile, With 43,893 new cases, infections in India are now close to 8 million. As many as 508 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the toll to 1,20,010. Of the 79,90,322 cases, 6,10,803 are active infections, while 72,59,509 patients have been discharged. Kerala is the largest contributor of cases for the fifth consecutive day

 

In its latest unlock guidelines for November, the government said there has been no change in the guidelines. The Ministry of Home Affairs in a statement said the Unlock 5.0 guidelines that last month allowed for the reopening of cinemas, theatres and multiplexes with up to 50 per cent of their seating capacity will remain in force till November 30. The order further said that lockdown shall continue to be implemented strictly in the containment zones till November 30, 2020. Earlier, the guidelines for reopening activities issued on September 30 were to be in force till October 31.

 

A weeklong lockdown came into force in Aizawl municipal area on Tuesday after at least 34 people, including two infants, have tested positive for the disease in Mizoram since Monday, 30 of which were detected in Aizawl.
