The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has canceled the SSC CHSL Tier I examination, which was to be held on 17/03/2020 (today).

The Staff Selection of Commission has issued special advisories and instructions for candidates following the outbreak of Coronavirus or Covid19. which is also available on the official website.

As per the official notice, the Commission has decided to temporarily change the protocol of attendance at the examination center. Also, the list of things allowed inside the examination hall has also been modified in view of the COVID19. The same are listed below.

SC CHSL Tier I Exam: Instructions in lieu of COVID19

  1. Commission has decided that no Bio-metric Registration of the candidates will be conducted. The thumb impression of the candidates, however, would be taken mandatorily on the Attendance Sheets.
  2. Candidates may carry their own masks that can be worn during the examination. Candidates would be, however, required to remove the masks for photographs at the Registration Desks. These photographs, as per the notice, would then be used by the Commission for verification in subsequent examinations of CHSL.
  3. Hand-sanitizers and water bottles (in transparent see-through bottles) are allowed at the exam center.
  4. Apart from this, the candidates are also allowed to carry their own ball pens to the exam center. The ball pens must have a transparent outer cover. Please note, ‘Any other type of pen, which is translucent, will not be allowed’.
  5. SSC has further added that necessary instructions have been issued to the service providers to ensure proper cleaning/ sanitizing of frequently used objects such as mouse/ keyboards/ tables/ door handles, etc. before the start of each shift of examination in the larger interest of the candidates.

Candidates are advised to follow the basic precautions and wash or sanitize your hands regularly and avoid touching their faces while outside. A total of 114 cases have been reported in India so far.
