UPSC CGSE 2020: The Union Public Service Commission, UPSC has released the detailed examination schedule of the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination, 2021 on the official website.  As per the schedule, the UPSC Geo-Scientist Prelims Exam 2020 will be held on February 21, 2021, at various test centers across the country.

Further, the eligible candidates shall be issued an UPSC Geo-Scientist Prelims Exam 2020 e-admission certificate three weeks before the commencement of the Examination. The e-admission certificate will be made available in the UPSC website for downloading by candidates.

The Combined Geo-Scientist Examination will consist of three successive stages:

  • Stage-I: Computer-Based Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) having two papers for selection of the candidates for the Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination.
  • Marks secured in the Preliminary Examination will be counted for deciding the final merit;
  • Stage-II: Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination (Descriptive Type) having three papers for selection of candidates for the Personality Test (Stage-III). Marks secured in the Main Examination will be counted for deciding the final merit; and Stage-III: Personality Test/Interview.

Special instructions to candidates for computer based objective type tests

  • No candidate will be allowed to leave the Test Lab during the test
  • No candidate is allowed to leave his/her seat without the permission of the invigilator.

Items allowed and not allowed

  • Electronic or any other type of calculators, log tables, slide rules, cellular/bluetooth/mobile phones/pagers, or any other equipment capable of being used as a communication device are not allowed inside the premises where the test is being conducted. Any infringement of the above instructions shall entail disciplinary action including a ban from the future test.
  • Candidates are advised not to bring any valuables/costly items to the test lab, as safekeeping of the same cannot be assured. The commission will not be responsible for any loss in this regard.

 

Mean-while, With over 98.57 lakh total coronavirus cases, India’s active caseload continues to decline and is currently below 3.6 lakh, the union ministry of health said on Sunday. India on Sunday reported 30,254 new coronavirus cases taking the country’s total to 98,57,029, as per the Union Health Ministry.

With 391 new deaths, India’s toll of coronavirus-related deaths has mounted to 1,43,019. On the other hand, the total discharged/recovered cases in India stand at 93,57,464 with 33,136 new discharges in the last 24 hours.
