While addressing the crowd, after his swearing-in ceremony, The chief minister of Delhi said that he had sent an invitation to PM Modi for today’s event.”I had sent an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for this event. He could not come. Maybe he is busy with some other event,” Arvind Kejriwal said.
Addressing supporters after being sworn in, Kejriwal said the support the electorate of Delhi had given to the politics of work will help build a 21st century India. ”Today, your son has taken oath for a third time as chief minister. This is not my win but yours—the people of Delhi. We will continue to work for the people of Delhi. In this election, some people voted for AAP, some voted for BJP, some voted for Congress, some for other parties, but now that I have taken oath, I am everyone’s CM,” Kejriwal said. He also stated that, Delhi is run by its people and not by politicians. AAP had invited 50 people from various fields who they called ‘Delhi ke nirmata’ (makers of Delhi). The AAP nearly repeated its 2015 performance in the elections, sweeping the Assembly polls winning 62 seats in the 70-member Assembly, in the face of a high-voltage campaign by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which fielded a battery of union ministers and chief ministers in its electioneering spearheaded by Home Minister Amit Shah.
