UIDAI has informed that now the Aadhaar card can be reprinted on a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) card. This card will easily come in your wallet just like your ATM or debit card. Also, it will not worry about spoiling too quickly. UIDAI wrote in a tweet, ‘Your Aadhaar will now be in a convenient size which you can easily keep in your wallet.’

The all-new Aadhaar PVC card
PVC cards are called polyvinyl chloride cards. A PVC card is a plastic card on which the Aadhaar information is printed. A fee of ₹50 is charged for making this card.
How to apply for the all-new Aadhaar PVC card
1) Apply online on the official website of UIDAI.
2) In the ‘My Aadhaar section’, click on the ‘Order Aadhaar PVC Card’
3) Now, enter either the 12 digit Aadhaar number or the 16 digits virtual ID or the 28 digit EID.
4) Now, enter the security code or captcha you see in the picture.
5) Click Send OTP.
6) You will get an OTP on the registered mobile number.
7) Now, enter the OTP and submit it.
8) After submitting, you will have a preview of the PVC card in front of you.
9) Then you have to click on the payment option below. After doing this, you will be redirected to the payment page and you have to pay the fee.
10) Your Aadhaar PVC card will be ordered as soon as payment is made.
Mean-while, The downward trend in India’s coronavirus cases continues as 55,342 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours taking the country’s Covid tally past 71.75 lakh, shows data shared by the Health Ministry this morning. This is the first time since August 18 (55,079) that India has reported around 55,000 cases in a day, and second day when the total new infections were under 70,000 since the September surge of around 90,000 cases a day. With 77,760 new recoveries, active cases have further come down to 8.38 lakh. The total number of fatalities associated with the viral infection shot to 1,09,856 with 706 people succumbing to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
