Bank Holidays March 2021: Bank across India will remain closed for a total of 11 days in the month of March. It should however be noted that bank holidays are not observed by some states and hence may vary as per a specific region or state. Only gazetted holidays are observed by banks all over the country. According to the details with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) calendar, other than four Sundays and two Saturdays, banks will remain closed on March 5, March 11, March 22, March 29, and March 30.
As per the RBI calendar, the banks will remain closed on March 5, March 11, March 22, March 29, and March 30 along with the four Sundays and two Saturdays.
Besides, banks are also expected to be closed during March 15 and March 16 as many bank unions have given a call for strike in protest against the government’s privatization plan. Bank unions are also planning to march towards Parliament in Delhi on March 10. All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA) has also called to hold a protest demonstration before Parliament during the Budget session on March 10.
The bank customers are advised to schedule their bank visit in March according to the holiday list. However, they can still make transactions through online modes or internet banking during the holidays.

The bank branches will remain closed on these holidays. Bank account holders should plan their visits accordingly. Mobile and internet banking functions will remain unaffected on these holidays. While only gazetted holidays are observed by all banks across the country, some holidays are only restricted to certain state festivals.
