BSF Recruitment 2021: By joining the Indian Army, the youth have a golden opportunity to serve the country. Border Security Force (BSF) has issued recruitment notification for the posts of General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO) and Specialist. Eligible candidates will be employed in BSF Composite Hospitals or BSF Hospitals for the post of GDMO and Specialist. Eligible candidates will be selected on the basis of walk-in-interview without examination.
Through this recruitment process, a total of 89 vacant posts will be recruited on GDMO and Specialist posts. Qualifying candidates can attend walk-in-interview from 21 June 2021 to 30 June 2021. The link of the notification is given below for important information.

Education qualification required:
Specialist: For this post, the candidate should possess a recognised medical qualification included in the first or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than that licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part II or the Third Schedule should also fulfil the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of Section (13) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
Post-Graduate Degree/Diploma in the concerned Speciality as mentioned in Section-A or Section-B of Schedule-VI or equivalent
1 and a half years’ experience for Post Graduate Degree holder & 2% Years for Diploma holder in the concerned specialty after obtaining the Post Graduate Degree/Diploma or equivalent.
General Duty Medical Officer: A recognised medical qualification included in the first or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than that licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part II or the Third Schedules should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub-Sections (3) of Section (13) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
Completion of compulsory rotating internship.
Age limit:
Not more than 67 years.
Selection procedure:
Immediately after interview on the same day the candidates will be medically examined by a Board of Medical Officers detailed by concerned Composite Hospital. Appointment will be subject to medical fitness.
Pay scale:
- Specialist: The selected candidates will get Rs 85,000.
- General Duty Medical Officer: The selected candidates will get Rs 75,000.
Period of contract initial:
Contractual Appointment will be for 3 years which may be extended for further 2 years on year-to-year basis subject to the maximum age cap of 70 years. Total Period of Contract will be five years or till the appointee attains the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier. Thereafter, the contract will lapse automatically. However, the appointment can be terminated at any time by giving one month notice (on either side) without assigning any reason by paying/refunding one month salary.
No Extension beyond the stipulated five years will be given. However, there is no bar on a contractual appointee applying afresh on completion of 5 years tenure.
