IIM CAT 2020: The application process for the entrance examination Common Admission Test (CAT) 2020 is to begin from tomorrow i.e. August 5, 2020, by the Indian Institute of Indore. The examination has been scheduled to be conducted on November 29, 2020, by the Indian Institute of Indore. The online registrations for the same have been scheduled to conclude on September 16, 2020. CAT will be conducted in test centers spread across around 156 test cities. The candidates who qualify this exam will be eligible for the admission to management courses such as PGP, PGDM, PGPEM, EPGP, PGPBM, PGPEX, at various IIMs and other B-schools across the country.
The candidates who wish to appear for the exam can visit the official website and apply once the forms are out. The Common Admission Test 2020, or CAT 2020, is scheduled to be held on November 29 in two sessions.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidates must possess Bachelor’s degree with at least 50 percent marks or equivalent.
The reserve category candidates- Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD), need to hold a minimum 45 percent marks from the recognized university.
The duration of the examination is 180 minutes.
There will be three sections:
Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
Section III: Quantitative Ability
The examination will be of 180 minutes and candidates will be allotted sixty minutes for answering questions in each section and they will be restricted to switch from one section to another. The questions will be in three sections, A. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, B. Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, C. Quantitative Ability.
CAT is a national level entrance examination for admission to more than 600 B-schools across the country. More than two lakh students appear each year for this admission test.
Follow these steps to register for CAT 2020
Step 1: Visit the official website at iimact.ac.in
Step 2: On the homepage, click on the ‘Register’ tab if you are a new candidate, click log in if you already have an account.
Step 3: A registration form will appear. Enter the required information correctly.
Step 4: Key in your mobile number and email ID very carefully.
Step 5: You will then get an OTP on your mobile number
Step 6: Key in the OTP and proceed
Step 4: Upload documents and proceed
Step 5: Enter your academic qualifications and submit
Step 6: Enter your work experience, if any,
Step 7: Select the programmes you want to enrol for
You may select any number of Programme Names in this section. Select the Programme and then select the Interview City for that Programme as per the cities listed from the respective drop-down list.
Step 8: Pay the application fee.
Rs 1000 for SC, ST and PwD category candidates.
Rs 2000 for all other categories of candidates.
