Data Plans Comparison: 1.5GB plans have seen a recent price hike after all the telcos decided to increase the rates of the existing packages. Led by Reliance Jio, the current 1.5GB data plans have packs from Airtel and Vodafone Idea

Jio’s competitors Vodafone Idea and Airtel also offer similar packages but each and every carrier has a USP. Also, Reliance Jio recently increased the price of one of their yearly plans by ₹101

When it comes to the Yearly Plan, Reliance Jio recently updated its yearly plan. company provided a yearly plan with 1.5GB per day data at ₹2,020. Now, Reliance Jio has increased the price by ₹101 to ₹2,121. The benefits of the plan, however, remain the same. 

Reliance Jio’s competitors Vodafone-Idea and Airtel also offer similar packages but each and every carrier has a USP of their own. Here we discuss the yearly plans offered by all three network providers. Each provider has two data plans for the same period of time.

Airtel

Airtel is also offering two data packages worth ₹1,498 and ₹2,398. Similar to Vodafone, the packages get a yearly validity of 365 days. The ₹1,498 plan gives a total 24GB data to the user, for a year and 3600 messages for the same time period. The ₹2,398 plan offers 1.5GB data and 100 messages per day for the entire year.

Airtel has a wide range of add-ons with both the yearly packages. The user will get Zee5 Premium subscription, free courses for 1 year on Shaw Academy, free hello tunes with unlimited changes, Wynk Premium subscription, Airtel Xstream app premium, priority service at all Airtel stores & customer care centers, Rs. 150 cashback on FASTag and anti-virus for your phone.

Vodafone

Vodafone offers two plans priced at ₹2,399 and ₹1,499. The ₹2,399 plan offers more data to the users on a daily basis whereas ₹1,499 data plan gets limited data.

The ₹2,399 plan offers 1.5GB data per day for a period of 365 days. The ₹1,499 plan, on the other hand, offers a total of 24 GB data for the entire 365 day period. The other major difference lies in the cap on SMS service. The ₹2,399 plan offers 100 messages per day and the ₹1,499 plan offers a total of 3600 text messages for an entire year.

Jio offers two plans worth Rs1,299 and ₹2,121. The plans are valid for a duration of 336 days and not 365 days as offered by both Airtel and Vodafone Idea. The smaller data pack worth ₹1,299 gives the user 24GB of total data and 3600 messages in a year. The ₹2,121 plan offers 1.5GB data and 100 messages per day.

Once the data is exhausted, the speed will switch to 64 Kbps. Jio to Jio calls are unlimited but calls to non-Jio numbers will be limited to 12000 minutes for both plans. Jio offers complimentary subscription to Jio Apps with the yearly plans.
