GoAir on Thursday announced an extension of its ticket credit scheme, which allows passengers who don’t show up for a flight to use the fare amount on any booking within a year, from April 15 to April 30. “Even if the customer does not show up between 19th March 2020 and 30th April 2020 (at the airport), GoAir will automatically protect the customer’s ticket and fare for travel on any future date until 30th April 2021,” as per the press statement by the airline.

GoAIR had last week said this ticket credit scheme was previously available for bookings done till 15 April only.

India is under a 21-day lockdown till April 14 to combat coronavirus, where all domestic and international commercial passenger flights stand suspended during the period.

However, cargo flights, medical evacuation flights, offshore helicopter operations and flights specially permitted by aviation regulator dgca can operate during this time period.

“In light of the ongoing situation, you might for whatever reason not take your flight. Please don’t worry, GoAir will protect your PNR for a period of one year and you can contact GoAir at any time over the next one year to redeem your ticket on any GoAir flight on any date with no charges- statement released by the GoAir in its official website.

In addition to protecting your ticket and fare for travel up to April 30, 2021, GoAir also added that a customer will also be able to use the value of their ticket for travel on a future date.

The airlines further said that a passenger can use its app or website to reschedule all impacted bookings, even if your booking was made through a travel agent or online travel agency.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases climbed to 2,301 in the country while the death toll rose to 56, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
