AICTE admission date: In good news for the students who have appeared for the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) examinations, AICTE has extended the last date for various engineering admissions courses till December 31, 2020. The move was taken after considering the fact that in many states counseling and admission have not started due to Covid 19 and also in the view of the delay in the release of CET result of a few states.

“The last date for admission to Engineering Courses is extended up to 31st December 2020 in only those cases where counseling and admission had not started due to delayed CET of the state or where counseling has yet not been over with a rise that classes were not started for more than 15 days to take care or the academic requirements of the students to avoid academic loss,” read the notification issued by AICTE.

This comes after a few states sent representation to the council to review the present date for admission to all engineering courses.

It is said that the announcement would also directly impact MHT CET 2020 admissions. With MHT CET 2020 results declared just now, the counseling process for engineering admissions is yet to commence. Hence, with the extension in the admission deadline, engineering colleges in Maharashtra will have to complete the counseling process and admission formalities before 31st December 2020.
