Jeevan Pramaan is a digital service for seniors that uses biometrics. Retired people from the Central Govt, State And local governments, and other government organizations are eligible for the pension. And over one crore households in India are pensioner families, with the pension granted by different government entities serving as the foundation for their revenue and stability.
There are around 50 lakh Central Govt pensioners, as well as a similar amount from the state, local, and UT administrations and other federal agencies. The annual life certificate, titled Jeevan Pramaan Patra, for people receiving government pensions must be submitted by November 30, 2022. A pensioner may submit their annual life certification digitally in six different methods..
According to a notice released by the Department of Pension and Retirees’ Welfare on September 30, 2022, retirees can register their digital life certificates by using the Door – to – door Banking Alliance of Twelve public banks or the Door – step facility of the postal department and other methods listed below. A pensioner can physically or digitally submit a yearly life certificate using one of the six procedures listed.

Life certificate via Jeevan Pramaan Portal
Pensioners can send their life certificates electronically through Jeevan Pramaan Gateway. A retiree must install the Jeevan Pramaan app from the website. Retirees also must use UIDAI-mandated equipment to scan their fingerprints. An OTG cable can be utilized to connect a fingerprint scanner to a smartphone. A list of UIDAI-mandated devices is available on the Jeevan Pramaan site.
Upload your life certificate via India Post Payments Bank (IPPB)
The “Doorstep Service for Submitting of Digital Life Certificate by Postman” project, designed by the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) of the Ministry of Posts and Meity, was officially deployed by the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare in Nov 2020. To access this function on a smartphone, a pensioner must first install the “Post info APP” first from Play Store. Then, on application, follow the prescribed procedure to submit the life certificate.
Face authentication method for submitting life certificates
Benefit claimants can also submit Life Certificates using the Face Identification technology method which is based on the UIDAI Aadhaar program. By capturing a live snapshot of the retiree and sending it digitally to the Jeevan Pramaan smartphone app, a Digital Life Certificate may be issued from every Android-based handset. Life certification authenticated by the designated officer
Personal attendance is not required if a retiree submits a life certification form that is authenticated by a “designated official”. A retiree who submits a life certificate in the necessary style and this case the proper signatures are excused from testifying in person, as per point 14.3 of the CPAO-issued Program Handbook. The CPAO scheme guidebook includes a list of designated officers who can authenticate life certificates.
Life certificate submission via the postman
In November 2020, the Agency of Posts and the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) launched the Door – step Facility for submitting Digital Life Certificates via Postman. pensioners must first install the Post info App from the Play Store to upload a life certificate utilizing this service.
Doorstep banking services for submission of life certificates
Doorstep Banking is also available through the Partnership, a consortium of 12 public-sector banks that offers “Doorstep Banking” to customers in 100 major cities around the country. PSB Partnership has made the process of acquiring life certifications accessible under the pretext of door-step banking. To deliver the service, a DSB representative will visit the pensioner’s home. The retiree may reserve the timing as per his time convenience for verification of life certificates.
