Low-cost carrier Air Asia opens bookings for 21 destinations ahead of the resumption of domestic flights from Monday.
In a tweet, the carrier said, “AirAsia India is resuming domestic flight operations, from 25.05.2020. Passengers undertaking travel to any state are required to read, understand, and comply with the health and other protocols prescribed by the destination State / UT for airline travelers.”
In a release, the airline said it would strictly follow the SOPs (standard operating procedures) and guidelines laid out by the regulatory bodies to enable safe travel.
AirAsia flights are open for booking for travel to all its 21 destinations where it flies to in the country, the release issued on Saturday said.
However, states are yet to agree on a uniform Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) for the arrival of passengers. Like other domestic carriers, GoAir is also awaiting clarity on the readiness of the respective states and their airports with regard to acceptance of flights, or the conditions applicable to passengers entering the respective states.
“Without clarity on these conditions, GoAir does not wish to inconvenience its passengers by putting on sale flights immediately post the 25th of May which they may book, that will not be permitted to operate to the respective states or may have conditions for arriving passengers of which they may be unaware,” an official statement by the carrier said.
“The airline would also not be responsible for repatriating or bearing any quarantine or related costs of any guests,” it further tweeted.
For cancellations of the tickets, the carrier said that it would “update impacted guests by SMS / email.” The cancellation details can be checked on their website: http://airasia.com.
According to the release, passengers would have to mandatorily web check-in, complete their self-declaration form and download the Aarogya setu app before they arrive at the airport. They have also been advised to report two to four hours prior to the departure time to allow enhanced health and safety processes to take place.
“GoAir has already been on sale for its entire network of flights commencing June 1 and appreciates the initial customer response which has been very positive,” the carrier added.
