BSNL prepaid plans: Government-owned telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is introducing some prepaid plans as part of its Christmas offer. BSNL is introducing a plan voucher for Rs 199 that will. offer 2GB daily high speed. It is also bringing out a promotional offer on STV 998 that will give 3GB daily data for 240 days. The plans will be available to customers from December 24.

BSNL PV 199: The plan voucher (PV) 199 will offer 2GB of high-speed data, with 250 free minutes of local and STD calling per day and 100 SMS per day. The prepaid plan will offer a service validity of 30 days. The development was posted on BSNL Rajasthan and first reported by OnlyTech.
BSNL STV 998: BSNL will also offer increased data benefits on its special tariff voucher (STV) priced at Rs 998 as part of the Christmas offer. The Special Tariff Voucher which currently offers only 2GB high-speed data per day will offer 3GB high-speed data per day with a calendar validity of 240 days, which is July 2021. After the promotional offer, the freebies will be reverted to 2GB per day. All other freebies and bundling will remain the same.
500GB CUL broadband plan: This plan by BSNL offers 100 Mbps speed till 300GB is reached. After the 500GB, the speed was previously reduced to 2 Mbps, now the post FUP speed will be 5 Mbps. This plan comes at Rs 777 per month.
BSNL Superstar 300 plan: This plan by BSNL offers 100 Mbps speed till 300GB is reached. After the 300GB, the speed was previously reduced to 2 Mbps, now the post FUP speed will be 5 Mbps. This plan comes at Rs 779 per month. This Broadband plan offers a Disney+ Hotstar subscription. The plans priced between Rs 651 and Rs 799 will get 5Mbps post FUP speed. BSNL has increased the post-FUP speeds on all broadband plans.
BSNL announced that it will give 20 Mbps speed for plans priced above Rs 1,499. This includes Bharat Fiber broadband plans priced at Rs 1999, Rs 2499, Rs 4499, Rs 5999, Rs 9999, and Rs 16,999. All these plans give 200 Mbps speed with 4TB data per month except for the Rs 16,999 prepaid plan that will give 170GB data per day.
Mean-while, A day after recording the lowest number of daily Covid-19 infections, India on Wednesday reported 23,950 new cases, taking the total tally to 10,099066. On Tuesday, the 24-hour tally reached the lowest with only 19,556 cases recorded on Monday. This was the lowest after 173 days.
The number of active cases has dropped below 2 lakh and is now at 1,89,240
The health ministry on Tuesday issued a new SOP in the context of the new variant of SARS-CoV-2 detected in the United Kingdom, making it mandatory for all states to test passengers traveling from or transiting through airports in the UK. Passengers testing positive shall be isolated in an institutional isolation facility in a separate (isolation) unit coordinated by the respective State Health Authorities. Those who are found negative on testing with RT-PCR at the airport would be advised quarantine at home and followed up.
