The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas on Thursday made a big announcement for the customers who are using the LGP cylinders. The ministry today said that the LPG customers will soon have a choice to decide which distributors they want their LPG refill from. The government further added that the facility is in its pilot phase and will be launched shortly.
The facility will be launched on a pilot basis soon in Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Gurgaon, Pune and Ranchi.
“Consumers will be able to choose their “Delivering Distributor” from the list of distributors catering to their address within their Oil Marketing Company (OMC),” the Union ministry for petroleum and natural gas said on Thursday.
The service is aimed to empower the customers by way of enhanced choice and inspire healthy competition amongst the distributors to provide the best in class services.
Here’s how consumers can book their LPG refill digitally:
- Customers can book refill through a mobile app/customer portal using registered login.
- Consumers would be shown the list of delivering distributors with their performance ratings. Consumers can then opt for any distributor from the list applicable to the area.
- “Customers can book refill, update personal records, apply for portability, transfer of connection, address change and all other refill-related services,” through these portals and apps.4) HPGas’s portal is https://myhpgas.in and its mobile app is HP Pay.
5) After logging into the portal or app, the consumers will be shown a list of delivering distributors along with their performance rating. They can then opt for any distributor from the list applicable to the area.

8) LPG refills can also be booked through UMANG (Unified Mobile App for New Governance) app or the Bharat Bill Pay System apps and platforms. Not only this, popular e-commerce apps like Amazon and Paytm can also be used for booking refills and making payments.
“Today, we have reached a major landmark of 10,000 LPG distribution centres in tie up with BPCL. We have around 6,000 LPG distribution centres operating in tie up with HPCL and over 5,000 with IOC.
“By the end of the current financial year we will have 1 lakh LPG distribution centres operational across India,” CSC SPV Managing Director Dinesh Tyagi said in a statement.
