DU cutoffs 2020: Delhi University is all set to announce the DU cutoffs List with the CBSE 12th Result 2020 declared on 13 July. Delhi University Admission 2020 Process is already underway, with the last date for the application is 18th July 2020. Now, with the formal declaration of CBSE Class 12 Results 2020 has been declared, the varsity is expected to expedite the release of Delhi University Admission Cut-off List 2020 for the courses which have merit-based admission process. Like last year, CBSE Board is expected to share its CBSE 12th Result 2020 Database for students with the Delhi University, which will be linked to the admission portal. Once formally prepared, DU Cut-off List 2020 will be published online on the official website of Delhi University i.e. du.ac.in. Once announced, a direct link to the cut-off list will be provided below as well.
DU Cut-Offs 2020 Likely to be Higher
As per the data released by CBSE Board along with the Class 12 Results, there has been a sharp rise in the number of students securing above 95% marks and even above 90% marks. According to the data available right now, a total of 1,57,934 have secured above 90% marks in the CBSE 12th Class Results which amounts to 13.24% of the total students who appeared. This number was only 7.82% last year. Similarly, in the bracket of 95% and above, 38,686 students have been placed, which is approx. 3.24% of the total number of students, as compared to 1.47% announced last year. With a large number of students securing above 90% marks, it is highly likely that college cut-offs, especially DU Admission Cut-off 2020 will be higher this year.
Application Process to end on 18th July 2020
Recently, Delhi University announced an extension in the online application process for Delhi University Admission 2020. Candidates who are yet to complete the online registration process for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate level courses offered by Delhi University can complete the application process by 18th July 2020. The admission application process was formally started by the varsity on 18th June 2020. As per the latest data shared by the university, around 5 lakh candidates have already registered themselves for admission to various UG and PG programs at the University of Delhi 2020.
Many of the NEET and JEE aspirants also apply to the DU.
In a few days, the admission committee will sit down and make a decision, Shobha Bagai, dean (admissions)said.
Former Academic Council member Pankaj Garg said the cutoffs in the first list would be high, but even the cutoffs in the fifth and sixth lists would be higher than last year by two-three percentage points.
For instance, if the cutoff was 88 percent in a subject last year, it will be 90 or 91 percent this year, he said.
“Also, this year, students were not allowed to choose courses while filling the varsity registration form. So colleges will keep their cut-offs high since the number of seats are limited for courses,” he said.
