LPG cylinder prices: Cooking gas LPG price has been increased by Rs 25 per cylinder with effect from August 17. With the latest price hike, the price of a non-subsidized 14.2 kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder will now cost Rs 859.50 in Delhi. The price has been hiked in similar proportion across the country.
Already reeling from the economic challenges of the second wave of the pandemic and rising fuel prices, families have been dealt a heavy blow with the latest increase in LPG cylinder prices.

Currently, the government provides 12 subsidised LPG cylinders of 14.2 kilograms to a household every year. The amount of the subsidy provided by the government on the annual quota of 12 refills varies from month to month.
Generally, state-owned oil companies change the price of gas cylinders (LPG Price) on the first day of every month. At the beginning of the year 2021 i.e. in January, the price of LPG cylinder in Delhi was Rs 694, which was increased to Rs 719 per cylinder in February.
On February 15, the price was increased to Rs 769. After this, on February 25, the price of the LPG cylinder was increased to Rs 794. In March, the price of the LPG cylinder was hiked to Rs 819. After the reduction of Rs 10 in early April, the rate of domestic LPG cylinders had been reduced from Rs 819 per cylinder to Rs 809 a cylinder in Delhi. In a year, the prices of LPG cylinders have increased by Rs 165.50.
