Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday invited ideas for the 70th edition of his highly popular monthly radio program `Mann Ki Baat` which will be aired on October 25.

Speaking at the 69th edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat‘, Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged people to take up storytelling. He also praised the efforts being made by individuals to promote the art of story-telling across the country.

He also praised the farmers and said they are playing a major role in the efforts to build an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. “India is very proud of our farmers,” PM Modi had said.

‘Mann ki Baat’ is a radio program, aired on All India Radio on the last Sunday of every month, through which the Prime Minister interacts with the nation.

The Prime Minister addresses the nation in a recorded a 30-minute message in ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on the last Sunday of every month in which innovative ideas and suggestions can be directly shared with the PM throughout the month.

Some of the suggestions are likely to be referred to by the Prime Minister during his address.

One Ashok Balan in his suggestion for ‘Mann Ki Baat’ mentioned that the State Bank of India, the largest bank of India, is denying promotion opportunities to its subordinate cadre (most of them ex-servicemen) under the merit channel.

Mean-while, With 66,732 new cases, the coronavirus tally in India has now risen to over 71 lakh. As many as 816 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the casualties to 1,09,150. Of the 71,20,539 infections, the recoveries stand at 61,49,536, while 8,61,853 cases are still active. With increasing recoveries, India has sustained its leading global position with the maximum recovered cases.

Laying out the sequence of distribution of COVID vaccines that are expected to be available in India, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said Sunday that the first priority will be for those facing occupational hazards from the virus and exposure risk, indicating that healthcare professionals at the frontline would be among the early recipients.
