Vodafone Idea Limited & Airtel has hiked prices of its prepaid services by introducing new plans. These new plans will be available across India starting 3 December 2019.
Vodafone Idea Limited & Airtel has hiked prices of its prepaid services by introducing new updated new plans that be available across India starting December, 3 2019, it said in an official statement.
Vodafone Idea & Airtel has announced new plans for prepaid product and services with 2 days, 28 days, 84 days, 365 days validity. The new plans are costlier up to 40 per cent compared to earlier plans.
The telco has also capped off-net calls or calls to other telcos like Reliance Jio, Airtel and BSNL under its unlimited packs.
Vodafone Idea said that local, STD and national roaming voice calls from Vodafone to Vodafone and Vodafone to Idea and vice versa are considered as on-net, while rest calls are off-net. “Off-net calls after the free usage in the plan, would be charged at 6p/min,” it said.
Same with airtel that airtel to airtel calls are still free but new airtel also increase plans of new sim offers.
The announcement has come on the backdrop of its highest quarterly loss amid an adverse Supreme Court ruling on adjusted gross revenue (AGR).
Indian telecom carriers have the lowest average revenue per user worldwide with Vodafone Idea’s subscriber revenue at nearly Rs 105 a month.
The telcos said that it continues to actively invest in building digital infrastructure by embedding new age technologies to make its network future-fit. Building on its largest spectrum footprint and by accelerating its network integration, VIL is speedily expanding both its coverage and capacity and is well on track to offer 4G services to 1 billion Indian citizens by March 2020.
“It remains committed to play its role in actualizing the vision of Digital India by offering world class digital experiences to cater to the evolving needs of its over 300 million customers,” it said.
