Rhea Chakraborty Arrests live updates:
On Day 3 of Rhea Chakraborty’s interrogation, NCB officials will be looking into the financial trail of how the narcotics substances were paid for to understand if Rhea paid for the same. If they find a connection, it could be a piece of crucial evidence against Rhea and she will be booked under Section 27 A of NDPS Act.
As of now only evidence with NCB is of facilitating narcotics. NCB officials will again try to extract a confession on consumption and procurement of drugs from Rhea Chakraborty. However, as of now, Rhea has denied these charges. She will again be confronted with the three arrested accused – Showik, Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant.
Rhea Chakraborty arrived at the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office for Day 3 of questioning. Sushant Singh Rajput’s family may approach Bombay High Court against Rhea Chakraborty’s FIR. Rhea filed an FIR against the late actor’s sister Priyanka, Dr Tarun Kumar of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and others for wrongly administering drugs to the late actor at the Bandra Police Station yesterday. A case was registered under Sections 420, 464, 465, 466, 468, 474, 306 r/w 120B/34 of the IPC and Sections 8(1), 21, 22, 29 of the NDPS Act.
Rhea Chakraborty filed an FIR at the Bandra Police Station yesterday against Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister Priyanka, Dr Tarun Kumar of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and others for forging a prescription and administering drugs to the late actor. The late actor’s family lawyer, Vikas Singh termed the FIR “illegal” because as per the Supreme Court’s order, no third-party agency can register a fresh case given that the matter is already under CBI’s jurisdiction. Based on this technicality, SSR’s family may move the Bombay High Court to quash the FIR entirely.
Today, a senior Mumbai police official, refuting Vikas Singh’s claim, said that anyone can register a case, however, considering CBI has been charged with the investigation, this case will also be transferred to the central investigation agency. As per latest reports, Rhea’s case has also been transferred to the CBI.
In a press conference, Sushant Singh Rajput’s family lawyer Vikas Singh called Rhea Chakraborty’s FIR baseless. He also said that Bandra Police Station seems to be Rhea’s second home and she runs to it whenever she feels like. Vikas Singh also alleged that Bandra police and Mumbai police, in general, is favouring Rhea, otherwise, they wouldn’t have registered a case, going against the Supreme Court’s ruling that only allows the CBI to register fresh cases in this matter now.
Narcotics Control Bureau’s Special Investigation Team has prepared a list of 25 top Bollywood celebrities who are related to the drug cartel currently under investigation, as part of the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The list was prepared based on the names provided by Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik during their interrogation. The electronic devices seized from arrested drug peddlers also establishes a Bollywood connection and corroborates Rhea and Showik’s claims.
Summons, based on this dossier, will soon be sent out to the 25 people on the list.
On Day 3 of NCB’s interrogation, Rhea Chakraborty confessed that she was not only consuming ganja but was also into chemicals. She further revealed that drugs were consumed on the set of one of Sushant Singh Rajput’s movies, as well as listed the Bollywood parties where drugs were consumed. The NCB is now likely to summon Sushant’s co-stars and other actors.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has summoned two of Sushant Singh Rajput’s staff members – Neeraj Singh and Keshav. Both Neeraj and Keshav were earlier questioned by the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI). The CBI is considering Neeraj and Keshav, along with Sushant’s friend Siddharth Pithani and another one of his staff members, Dipesh Sawant, eyewitnesses as they were the closest to the actor right before his death on the morning of June 14.
The NCB has started the process of Rhea Chakraborty’s arrest. The arrest memo is being prepared. Rhea will be arrested at 5 pm today after Day 3 of NCB’s interrogation ends. Two aspects that worked against Rhea and led to her arrest are harbouring narcotics and procuring narcotics.
Once arrested, Rhea will be taken for medical tests and will be produced before the court along with the three other arrested accused – Rhea’s brother Showik, Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda and his staffer Dipesh Sawant. The four will be presented before the court via video conferencing on September 9.
