RuPay Festive Carnival: If you are a RuPay cardholder, then this festive season can turn into a discount season for you as there is a fair chance you can get up to 65 percent of discounts on various purchases. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on Monday unveiled ‘RuPay Festive Carnival‘ through which the card users can availing attractive offers on various branded items.

According to the information received from the NPCI, those holding RuPay cards will get benefits in many categories. It can double the joys of the festive season by taking advantage of attractive offers in health, fitness, education, and e-commerce. Along with this, they can shop with great offers in categories like dining and food delivery, shopping, entertainment, wellness, and pharmacy.

The NPCI will provide discounts up to 65 percent on the various branded items purchase using RuPay card. The ‘RuPay Festive Carnival‘ will provide compelling benefits and attractive discounts to RuPay users, aimed at encouraging safe, contactless, and cashless payments, NPCI said in a release.  Customers will be able to avail of discounts ranging from 10-65 percent on top brands, including Amazon, Swiggy, Samsung, among others.

“We hope Carnival’s attractive benefits and discounts will augment the festive joy among customers in a new way and at the same time drive the adoption of digital and contactless payments on their festive purchases,” Kunal Kalawatia, Chief of Marketing, NPCI said. There is a constant endeavor at NPCI for making RuPay the most preferred card among Indian households for all their shopping and day-to-day purchases, he said.

Mean-while, India detected 36,410 cases of the novel coronavirus in the 24 hours ending 9 am Tuesday, the lowest number of daily new cases since July 17. The country’s tally of 79.46 lakh (79,46,429) includes 6,25,857 people who were being treated for the disease and 72,01,070 who had recovered. With 488 additional deaths on Monday, the toll rose to 1,19,502.

India’s Covid-19 fatality rate dropped to 1.50 percent Monday, the lowest since March 22. The Union Health Ministry said the Case Fatality Ratio (CFR) was lower than one percent in at least 14 states and Union Territories, including Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, and Kerala.

“India has one of the lowest fatality rates in the world. The case fatality rate is lowest since March 22 and is continuously declining,” the ministry was quoted as saying by PTI.
