The country’s largest carmaker on Wednesday launched the new version of its popular hatchback car Swift. The all-new Swift 2021 comes with NextGen K-Series 1.2 liter dual jet dual VVT engine with an idle start-stop feature. The base model of the new Swift 2021 (LXI) is priced at ₹ 5.73 lakh (ex-showroom price Delhi), while the Swift 2021 VXI model for the manual version is priced at ₹ 6.36 lakh and ₹ 6.86 lakh for the automatic gear shift variant.
“Since its launch in 2005, Swift has revolutionized the premium hatchback segment in India. Swift with its sporty performance, upright stance, and unmistakable road presence emphasizes individuality that stands out from the crowd. This ‘coming of the age’ car was designed keeping in mind the evolved preferences of the modern-day customer,” Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India said.

The new Swift is equipped with the next generation of K-Series Dual Jet Dual VVT engine with Idle Start Stop (ISS) technology. The company claims that the Dual Jet technology (2 injectors per cylinder), coupled with Dual VVT (variable valve timing for both Intake and Exhaust valves) and cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system result in higher fuel efficiency with lower emissions.
The company claims a fuel efficiency of 23.20 km/l in MT and 23.76 km/l in AGS variants for an unmatched drive. Available in both Manual and Automatic Gear Shift (AGS) variants, the new K-series engine also offers an increased power output of 66KW@6000rpm.
