Apple Unleashed October Event Highlights: Apple October 2021 ‘Unleashed event’ is now over. The event was streamed live on the company’s official website and its YouTube channel from the Cupertino headquarters. The highlight of the event was the new MacBook Pro in 14-inch and 16-inch variants powered by the new M1 Pro and M1 Pro Max chipset.

1.New M1 Pro and M1 Max chips announced

Apple unveiled it’s new M1 Pro and M1 Max processors for the new MacBook Pro. The new M1 Pro chip, as Apple explains, has double the width for its memory interface, 200 GB/s memory bandwidth, and three times the performance of the M1 chip. Built on a 5nm architecture, the M1 Pro supports up to 32GB of memory, double that of the M1 chip. It features a 10-core CPU which is made up of eight performance cores and two high-efficiency cores, making it 70 percent faster than the M1. Meanwhile, the M1 Max has 57 billion transistors, 64GB RAM, and a 32-core graphics processor. Apple says the new chip is seven times faster than a PC laptop at peak performance.

2. Apple Music subscription plan

Apple CEO started off the event with the launch of a brand new plan on Apple Music offering a new experience of listening to its subscribers. Siri will now have a number of custom playlists dedicated to various moods and settings featuring several notable artists. The new Voice plan will allow subscribers to listen to their favorite music at an affordable price. It will be available in 17 countries and regions later this fall.

3. New colors for Apple HomePod Mini Smart Speaker

The tech giant added new colors to the HomePod. They are now available in Orange, Yellow, and Blue. 

4. AirPods 3 

One of the most anticipated products, Airpods 3 was launched at the event with new features. Having the same design as the AirPods Pro are loaded with spatial audio along with new low-distortion drivers with sweat and water resistance. With a battery life of over 6 hours, it comes with MagSafe and wireless charging. Available next week, the price for the new Airpods 3 starts at $179.

5. MacBook Pro

The new two versions, 14-inch and 16-inch, MacBook Pro equipped with M1 Max was launched with a notch. It also comes with a MagSafe and ports. With the Touch bar gone from the design, the new 16 inches MacBook Pro has an HDMI port, headphone jack, and SD card slot. 

With a wider lens and 1080p web camera, the new MacBook Pro depends on computational technology to offer video performance. It also offers up to 60 percent lower noise on the microphones with large woofers to offer deeper bass. The six-speaker sound system will be available on both 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro.
