The Ayodhya Ram Mandir ‘bhoomi pujan has begun in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister earlier offered prayers to Ram Lalla and performed ‘sashtang pranam’ (prostration) at the Ram Janmabhoomi site.

PM Modi also planted the divine ‘Parijaat‘ sapling on the premises of Ram Mandir ahead of the ‘Bhumi Pujan’ ceremony. PM Modi used the traditional natural drip irrigation method to plant the auspicious ‘Parijaat’ sapling.

Around 175 eminent guests have been invited for the ‘Bhoomi poojan’ of Ram temple. Besides Prime Minister Modi, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, Mahant Nritya Gopaldas Maharaj, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are also present on stage.
Prime-minister along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, arrived at the temple dressed in traditional dhoti-kurta.
Prior to reaching the Ram Janmabhoomi site, the Prime Minister offered prayers at 10th century Hanuman Garhi Temple. He was presented with a headgear, silver ‘mukut’, and stole by Sri Gaddinsheen Premdas Maharaj, head priest of 10th-century Hanuman Garhi Temple.

The Prime Minister arrived in Ayodhya at the designated time of 11.30 am. He was received by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while maintaining social distancing. The entire foundation laying program of the Ram temple is expected to take place from 11 am to 2 pm. Overall, 175 eminent guests have been invited for the Bhumi Pujan ceremony including Iqbal Ansari, one of the Muslim litigants in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit.
