Telecom giant BSNL has launched two exciting 4G-only prepaid plans that offer great date benefits. BSNL recently rolled out their 4G services for the subscribers in Kolkata and the latest plans launched by the company are much better than the leaders Vodafone, Airtel and Jio in terms of benefits. The plans in consideration are Rs 96 and Rs 236 which offers up to 10 GB data per day.
Highlights:
- BSNL is offering 4G services using the existing 3G spectrum
- BSNL 4G is yet to go official in all the 20 telecom circles
- A recent report said the telco will receive 4G spectrum from April 1
With the Rs 96 prepaid plan, you can get 10 GB data per day but no calling or SMS benefits. The plan is valid for 28 days. While the Rs 236 prepaid plan, you will get 10GB data per day for 84 days. Even this plan does not include any calling or SMS benefits. The plans were designed keeping in mind the data-hungry customers, who spend the better part of their day surfing the internet on their mind. However, even though they are offering 10 GB data per day, BSNL does not have a great internet speed like Vodafone or Airtel.
BSNL 4G is Available in More Than 5 Circles
BSNL may not offer these 4G plans once it commercially rolls out 4G service across the country later this year. But for now, we can confirm that both these plans are available for recharge in BSNL circles where the telco has enabled 4G network. For the unaware, BSNL 4G is now available across Kerala, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Kolkata, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Chennai and Tamil Nadu circles. The telco is actively working on launching BSNL 4G using the existing 3G spectrum.
In addition to what we have reported regarding BSNL 4G in Kolkata, the telco has now expanded the service to another part of the city Moulali to Rajabazar. Furthermore, speeds are also much better right now.
However, the latest plans by BSNL might be great in terms of data benefits but if you come to think of it, the plan doesn’t really make sense without calling or SMS benefits. The subscribers can compromise and opt for a prepaid plan that has all the benefits rather than choosing the plans separately. It would also not be economical if you opt for 96 and 236 plans as apart from recharging with these amounts, you will also have to make some added recharges for calls and SMSes, which would add on to the total.
Earlier, BSNL launched yearly postpaid plans with as much as 3GB data per day. The plan costing Rs 1999 is valid for 365 days and offers 3GB data per day. It comes with 250 calling minutes per day along with 100 SMSes per day. Every BSNL plan comes with a free subscription to BSNL tunes.
