On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked 130 crores, Indian residents, to share their ideas and suggestions ahead of the presentation of the Union Budget for the financial year 2020-21.
“The Union Budget represents the aspirations of 130 crore Indians and lays out the path towards India’s development. I invite you all to share your ideas and suggestions for this year’s Budget on MyGov,” Modi said in a tweet.

Earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had also asked citizens to submit their suggestions on the platform. Sitharaman is going to present the Union Budget in the parliament on 1 February 2020.
PM Modi’s tweet on engaging citizens to provide suggestions comes a day after the government released its first estimates of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) growth for the financial year 2019-20.
The Ministry of Statistics in a statement on Tuesday said that GDP is estimated to grow at 5 percent in 2019-20 as against 6.8 percent in 2018-19 to Rs 147.79 lakh crore. The growth projection is an 11-year low.
Earlier this week, Modi had a brainstorming session with the top 11 industrialists, including Ratan Tata and Mukesh Ambani to talk about the revival of economic growth.
