With the possibility of resumption of domestic flight operations soon, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has listed out some steps to be followed by passengers.

The government-owned Aarogya Setu app gives color coded-designation to users as per their health status and travel history. It helps the user know if he or she is near anyone who has tested positive for the virus.

Wearing masks and other protective gear is a must, along with the need to maintain a physical distance of four feet from fellow passengers.

 

To minimize points of contact at the airport, flyers will be required to do their web check-in and carry a print out of their boarding passes. Frequent washing and sanitizing of hands must be ensured, and passengers will have to carry a 350 ml bottle of hand sanitizer at all times while traveling.

They must cooperate with the airport staff to ease the flying process in the post-lockdown scenario.

The body, which reports to the civil aviation ministry, looks after the development and maintenance of airports across the country.

“Lockdown 4 will have totally different rules and will be based on suggestions from the states. The new measures will be announced before May 18,” PM had said.

As part of the repatriation exercise, Vande Bharat Mission, Air India will be flying Indians stranded abroad because of the coronavirus lockdown.

The national carrier has opened bookings from 14 May. “Reservation for travel from India to select destinations in the USA, UK, Australia and to Frankfurt, Paris, Singapore and Canada will commence from 1700 hrs on 14th May 2020,” it tweeted.

The government had earlier this year announced a suspension of all domestic and international air travel in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. While several international flights are being operated under the Vande Bharat Mission, to bring back Indians stranded abroad amid the lockdown, domestic flight operations are yet to be restarted.
