Central government’s unified, multi-service mobile application UMANG is getting new bells and whistles. Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has entered into an agreement with MapmyIndia to enable map services on UMANG app. Now users will be able to find location of various government facilities and services, from ration shops to ESIC hospitals and everything in between, right on the application.

“To further enhance the initiatives of Digital India Programme, and keeping in view the theme of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, MeitY has enabled map services in UMANG App through an MOU with MapmyIndia,” the ministry said. “As a result of integration of UMANG with MapmyIndia Maps, citizens will be able to find government facilities nearest to their location, such as mandis, blood banks and much more, at the click of a button.”

As of now, the UMANG app has added map functionality for three services: Mera Ration, eNAM and Damini. The ‘Mera Ration’ integration will let users navigate to the ‘Nearest Fair Price Shops’, which will be visible in the form of pointers on the MapmyIndia integrated map.

For eNAM, the map will show nearby mandis, while for Damini, the map will give lightning alerts to users with visuals of nearby areas where lightning has struck in the last few minutes.

Services available on UMANG App

Damini
With the help of ‘Damini Lightning Alerts’ information about the place where the lightning has fallen some time ago. Visuals of such areas will also be alerted.

Insurance office
Users will get the location of the ESIC center. Those who have insured themselves will be able to view and navigate its hospitals and dispensaries on the map.

Petrol pump

Get the location of the nearest Indian Oil Petrol Pump Retailers and Distributors. Also, you will be able to know the location of gas station and fuel filling station.

My road
Users will be able to complain about bad roads.

My Ration, eNAM
With Mera Ration integration, users will be able to access the nearest ration shops, which look like pointers on the map. Information about the nearest mandis and markets for eNAM will be given.
Users will be able to get information about toll plazas and toll rates.

Nearest police station can be traced.

How to Download UMANG App for Android & iPhone?

You can download the UMANG App on your mobile phone using either of the following ways-

  • Scan the QR Code provided on the official website
  • Give a missed call on 97183-97183 and Download the app using the link that will be sent to you on your phone
  • Visit the UMANG website here and enter your contact number in the required section. You will receive a link on the given number using which you can easily Download the app on your phone
  • You may also visit Google Play Store (in case of Android users) or iTunes App Store (in case of Apple users) and type ‘UMANG app’ to download the application on your phone

How to Register on UMANG App?

Given below is a step by step guide to new user registration on UMANG App:

Step1. Launch the UMANG App and click on the “Register” option.

Step2. you will be now redirected to the mobile number verification page. Enter your mobile number in order to generate an OTP to complete the UMANG App registration process.

Step3. Once you have generated and input the OTP, you will be asked to create an MPIN and once you have set an MPIN, the registration is complete and you can view the UMANG App Home Page. This page shows a shortlist of recently opened services available through the UMANG App.
